How did you first start working with Hive Hatch?
Our relationship began after meeting Mike, their co-founder & CEO. Hive Hatch took a seat at our table as pre-seed investors and advisors. Since the beginning, they’ve been helping my co-founders and me with our people and payroll management, bookkeeping, AP/AR, accounting, forecasting, and compliance needs. They are our company’s dedicated operations team and partner with us as our COO.

How do you collaborate with Hive Hatch?
Collaboration is actually a breeze. Their Structure Portal provides me instant access to our team from my computer or phone. I have quick access to my runway and bank balance, I can ask questions or send updates, access critical documents, and see an activity log of what’s being worked on (or completed ). They’re based in the U.S. so I don’t have to worry about any language barriers or timezone constraints.
We meet weekly, usually only a 15-minute sync where we run through the most important business updates and review urgent matters just as you would with an in-house COO. We’re in touch via Slack for specific matters too. They’re always accessible which is very comforting.
Their team removes potential distractions from me and my co-founders.
Additionally, we have a longer mid-month meeting where we review the operational budget for the next month and compare how we are doing this month over last in terms of real expenses. They also guide us in decisions based on our startup’s runway, our projected revenue, and predictable expenses.
It doesn’t stop there either. They’re guiding us quarterly and at year-end too. It’s awesome!
What has changed in Aument as a result?
Day one, they got us organized. Like most startups, we weren’t organized to scale. Our data was messy. They integrated our bank account platforms for easy startup accounting functionalities, our payroll services, and forecasting tools; building our operations foundation.
